On the afternoon of February 24, the symposium for some enterprises and geological exploration organizations about strategic breakthroughs in prospecting mines program jointly sponsored by Geological Exploration Department, Ministry of Land and Resources; Propaganda and Education Center, Ministry of Land and Resources and China Beijing International Mining Exchange (hereinafter referred to as CBMX) was held in Shangri-La World Summit Hotel - Beijing. Wang Min, committee member of Ministry of Land and Resources, deputy minister of Ministry of Land and Resources, director general of China Geological Survey attended the meeting and delivered a speech. The meeting was presided over by Peng Qiming, the director of Geological Exploration Department of Ministry of Land and Resources. Attendees include Zhong Ziran, Chief Engineer of Ministry of Land and Resources, Deng Guoping, director of Publicity and Education Center, Ministry of Land and Resources, Dong Chaobin, President of CBMX and relevant comrades who are in charge of China Geological Survey, China Mine Association, China Federation of Industry and Commerce, China Metallurgical Geology Bureau, China National Gold Group Corporation, China Steel Corporation, China Huaneng Group, Xinxing Cathay International Group Co., Ltd., China Sinochem Corporation, State Development Investment Corporation, China Railway resources Group Limited, Aluminum Mineral Resources Co., Ltd., China National Building Material Group Co., Ltd., China Nonferrous Metal Mining Group Co., Ltd., Anshan Iron and Steel Group Corporation, China National Coal Group Corporation, Hua Xia Bank, and other 20 mining companies, geological exploration organizations, industry associations and financial institutions.

This conference aimed to highlight the significance, tasks and requirements of the “strategic breakthroughs in prospecting mines” and to consult relevant units for advice and suggestions on action plan and arrangement. During the meeting, vice-minister Wang Min emphasized that mining companies should be prepared to take more investment risks in prospecting, and take a route of integrating prospecting and exploiting with combination of capital and technology. According to Wang, the Ministry of Land and Resources would make efforts to build an information exchange platform in order to facilitate its liaisons with businesses and help them address the challenges faced in prospecting mines. Wang also hoped that businesses would actively participate in the program with full confidence.

As the market-oriented implement and platform of national resources utilized by land resources administrative department to achieve the optimal allocation of mining right resources, China Beijing International Mining Exchange will give full play to the advantages of public service platform and market-oriented operation and management in the program, provide services like mining rights transfer, and at the same time, bridge for the mining resources and financial capital as well as connecting domestic market and overseas market.
